Habitat

Eucidaris is a common species in the seagrass meadows and around rocky habitats in backreef lagoons.

Distribution

  • Marine
  • Widely distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific, from the Red Sea to the Fiji and Hawaiian islands, and from South Japan to the north coast of Australia.
  • Sublittoral to over 500m, but mostly found in shallow water shelf settings.
